414 Hicks, the rental-condo hybrid overlooking the BQE that we’ve been tracking closely for the past couple of years, recently made the application for its affordable rental units available on line; the deadline for submissions is June 25. In addition to the 94 affordable rentals, the new development, which is officially being called the Columbia Hicks Apartments, will also offer 54 market-rate condos for sale. The website says that occupancy will start this summer.

Columbia-Hicks Development Still Being Tweaked [Brownstoner]
Got a letter 2 days ago saying I have an interview. Not sure if I still want to be in the running. Trying to figure out if they allow pets is incredibly difficult.
I’m also waiting on an answer! I’ll comment if I hear back.
I applied and haven’t heard anything either. I’ll comment if I hear back!! Good luck to all applicants.
we are signing a lease on Friday. Assuming no word, we’re out by Friday. I wish we could know more before then, but oh well. If so, a better chance for you! 🙂
Here’s the doc I found that outlines the lottery procedure and evaluation process. It’s from 2008, so I’m not sure how current it is. I skimmed and didn’t see anything about pets … it did say that the owner of the building is primarily responsible for evaluating and selecting tenants. In other words, I’m guessing that pet policy is decided by the building’s developer.

Obviously, I haven’t heard anything yet!
Marina: glad to hear you are crazy too. Also, thanks for sharing that info… much appreciated. It’s quite frustrating as, originally, these were suppose to be available for “summer,” then changed to “fall”… so who knows.
The kicker is that we have a small dog (20 lbs), and if we could just find out there policy on dogs, that might eliminate us (and, for that sake, this torture). I know the condos let pets… but not sure if these units do.
Anyhow, we can both keep each other apprised of anything we learn. Best of luck!
I’m as OCD as you. So much so, I have been checking brownstoner daily to see if YOU had posted anything new about the lottery. I think I found out more info yesterday from researching lottery procedures. My best guess is that we will hear by mail and that the lottery would have been done in the last couple of days. Someone from housing has to present at the management company to monitor the actual lottery … it takes 7 to 10 days to schedule the lottery from the time of the application deadline. Also, the applicants who qualify for special needs, etc. are contacted first. It’s a longer process than I had imagined …
so…. no one heard anything yet? or maybe no one is actually as OCD as I am on this. Still waiting.
anyone hear anything yet?
