The Park Slope townhouse at 409 8th Street that got so much attention for its thoroughly modern renovation has entered contract after hitting the market three years ago. The home was first listed in March 2011 for $3,195,000; we featured it as a HOTD soon after. The price dropped to $2,995,000 before getting pulled in July 2011. It came back in March 2012 for $2,995,000; we discussed it again later that month. One year later — this March — the listing notes that a contract’s been signed. The home was last priced at $2,900,000, less than it last sold for in 2008 — a cool $3 million. So, let’s begin the guessing game on the final selling price!

  1. i’ll guess 2.85. IIRC it was brazilian owners who bought it from the (retail beauty makeup) people. It isn’t unusual to see houses sit that long in westchester or CT that are overpriced like this was. The fact that they only took a tiny haircut is really insane, i was pretty certain they would be taking a 7 figure chop. Hot potato! aka overheated market. wonder if it was another foreign buyer. had to be at that price and that location, right?
