270 Greene Avenue Hits the Market

Surely one of the ugliest buildings to be built in Clinton Hill in recent memory ever, 270 Greene Avenue finally hit the market after three years or so in the pipeline. DOB permits say that the building has six apartments, but only four are currently listed on StreetEasy. Prices range from $479,000 for a 987-square-foot two-bedroom to $635,000 for a 1,266-square-foot two-bedroom. Needless to say, we’ll be surprised if these sell anytime soon for anywhere close to ask. Update: It looks like there is a stand-alone website up; there are also photos of the interiors viewable in the individual listings (like this one) that are much nicer than you’d think judging from the exterior.

Hmmm… 2BR in damn near Bed Stuy or a whole brownstone right on the other side of Classon. I can’t make up my mind.

Is any of that retro, mid-century modern style furniture actually comfortable? It sure doesn’t look it.

Agreed.
mksk, issue is was it good enough for the big price tags on ’em. don’t think people would be this negative if prices were say 50% lower
Yikes.

Hideous from the outside, agreed. But I was at an OH there last weekend and the apartment I looked at was quite spacious and nicely laid out. Some cheapish finishes, but overall it was much better on the inside than on the outside.
i am in shock. this is near me. is this the same developer that is responsible for developing those bluish-black brickbuilding with the stylistically inconsistent balconies, the one that buys the land, build the buildings and then advertises to sellers who want to to sell the individual aprtments? there’s a few of those on classon, and they are almost as disappointing. but this building, which i’ve only ever seen one or two guys working on in slow motion, i always assumed would be low-income income housing, and so it didn’t really bother me. i’ve certainly seen worse looking buildings in other nabes. but to find out they are trying to sell at those prices, with the f’n exposed fedders units, after what must of been a huge waste of money protracting construction, i am so f’m angry. WHO BUILDS THIS CRAP? idiots.
There are no words.
Antidope, I’m sure you won’t object to me saying buyers who would pay these prices for this crap are indeed DUMB / STUPID buyers
