We were thrilled to attend beloved blog QueensLove’s first community event at F. Ottomanelli & Sons Prime Meat Shop last night. It was a huge success with over thirty attendees, hosted by the blog via Facebook.

The group was treated to wine and lamp chops (my jacket still smells of rosemary and garlic) while we learned about the shop’s history. Fun fact: they sold over 18,000 burgers over Memorial Day weekend!

Frank taught us about the different cuts of meat, where Ottomanelli sources their top quality stock from, and how they use trained graders to carefully grade meat. “That’s why,” the butcher explained, “at Ottomanelli, the burger can’t be beat.”

Desmond, Rachel, Mark, and Joe in “Queens purple,” we decided–reppin’ the 7 train.

After we got our chops at the shop, we sampled the goods at Ottomanelli’s burgers and fries place a few doors down. The butchers weren’t exaggerating with the tastiness of an Ottomanelli burger!
