As aggravating as suspended weekend 7 train service can be, most straphangers affected by this hope that the sacrifice will be worth it. One way to keep the faith is to check in on the MTA’s Flickr stream, where they post photos there (and sometimes video) regularly of what kind of work they have been doing around town. We saw that they posted a set of photos from mid-January of the track replacement they did on the 7 line, and were pretty amazed at what exactly was happening.
Here are a few photos. First, replacing portions of actual subway track. Can you imagine how heavy that all is?!?
