The LIC condo building The Bindery, located at 47-34 11th Street, sold out at the end of February. The seven-story, 20-unit building hit the market in spring of last year and hit the 50 percent mark over the summer. Prices for the one- and two-bedrooms units, which ranged from 494 to 971 square feet, started at $450,000 — according to Modern Spaces, it’s “one of the first residential properties in Long Island City that sold for over $1000 per square foot with one of the homes selling for $1,166 per square foot after coming onto the market in April.”

Here’s what Modern Spaces’ Eric Benaim has to say about the recent sell out: “The tremendous pace at which the Bindery homes were sold speaks volumes of the continued demand of luxury living in the area. Everything from the name to the design of the building hit a note with buyers and we couldn’t be more pleased to have brought this project to completion in less than a year.”

  1. BTW, I’m not sure what that “we couldn’t be more pleased to have brought this project to completion in less than a year.” claim is about. This project was started more than ten years ago, and while it undoubtedly changed hands at some point, was a hole in the ground with a fence around it forever.

  2. Hopefully they hand you a set of earplugs when you get your keys–the auto garage next door was sold, and for the next 2+ years the Bindery will be neighbors with a teardown and construction site for a building similar to its own.
