At the end of the day yesterday we posted a photo from Twitter that made it look like the Citigroup Building in LIC could have been on fire. This photo taken by @jtcera and posted to Twitter shows that was not the case. Instead, as NBC New York reported, the source was a smokestack at TransCanada’s Ravenswood power plant at 37th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard. The problem: A combustion fan that conked out.
