Building and apartment are beautiful. But they got hit very hard by Sandy, so I would be very leery about buying a place here.
I think you must be confused with the Foundry across the street which is still dealing with Sandy damage and repairs. The Powerhouse’s lobby flooded and caused non-structural damage. The building had everything cleaned and removed within days of sandy to prevent mold etc. My brother owns a place there so I know what I am talking about and I am there every other weekend with him and his family. With the new waterfront park a block away I think it is now better situated than the View where I rent. New park is amazing and dog friendly. I can’t walk my dog and my kids in the park across the street from the View – my brother chose right – I chose wrong. +++ the building is less than a 3 min walk to 7 train. As that area continues to get built up it is only going to get better. The apt itself looks awesome although I would prefer outdoor space vs the 23ft ceilings which the duplexes don’t have. Anything under $1000 a SQFT seems to be priced to sell….
