We wrote a little while back about LIC’s large JetBlue sign sitting atop the Brewster Building on Queens Plaza North. It was dark for a while, and on Wednesday night it finally lit up!
The sign joins a small club of big signs in the area, including Silvercup Studios, PepsiCola, and IDCNY.
JetBlue and local city officials were so psyched about the lighting of the sign, they videotaped the inaugural lighting ceremony.
To further commemorate this event, JetBlue is running a sweepstakes on Twitter for the chance to win 2 roundtrip JetBlue Travel Certificates, which can be used on any JetBlue flight. All you have to do is tweet them a photo of their rooftop sign, including the hashtag #BrightLightsBlueCity (a great vantage point is from the north side of the Queensboro Plaza subway platform). The sweepstakes ends at 11:59 PM EDT on Wednesday, September 19, 2012.
