Protest Happening Outside the Global Supermarket in Jackson Heights

The above photo comes from Twitter with news that there’s a protest going on now outside of the Global Supermarket, formerly Trade Fair, in Jackson Heights. Global Supermarket opened on 37th Avenue yesterday. The new owner said he would try to hire back Trade Fair employees, who unexpectedly lost their jobs when Trade Fair closed abruptly in December. Instead, the owner opened up Global Supermarket with his own crew — hence the gigantic rat now gracing the sidewalk.
