This three-bedroom, two-bathroom co-op just hit the market in Jackson Heights, at the Greystones building. It’s asking $549,000 for a grand total of 1,200 square feet. We like the combination of high ceilings, moldings, parquet floors and exposed brick. There are also three exposures facing east, west and south. All that sounds great, but as commenters are pointing out this is a fifth floor walk-up.

We’ve been talking a lot over here at Q’Stoner about apartments in prewar Jackson Heights co-op buildings. How do you like this one? There’s an open house this Sunday the 16th from 1 to 3 pm if you’d like to see it in person.

  1. Another plus, burglars rarely go all the way to the top of building when they break in. First or second floor, generally speaking.

    And I agree, def. not for a family w a few little kids. But one with a 10+ old? Yeah.

  2. Let’s not be so hasty about the 5th floor walk up. There are positive aspects…mainly no one above you stomping around at night/early morning.

    And you could cut back on your running and/or gym activities since you’ll be burning calories going up and down.

    • You’d have noone above you if there was an elevator, too. These apartments have tall ceilings, too, so those flights are longer than average as well.

    • and you get to carry your groceries up 5 flights of stairs and trudge down then back up to get your take out from the lazy delivery guy…I am too lazy for that!

  3. JH has some amazing buildings. But imho this one looks a bit… hmmm… not renovated enough for the price?

    and WHOA Its a farking walk up? 5th FLOOR? Yeah, no way.
