We were delighted to see Woodside Cafe get some love from Serious Eats because in our opinion it’s home to some of the most delicious food in Queens. As the author says, it is “must-eat.” TRUE THAT.

Another tidbit – this is the location of the much beloved Spicy Mina’s (RIP).

He highlights vegetarian dishes, which include musta palu ($3.50), which “starts with ordinary salted, roasted soybeans. The crunchy little beans are tossed with mustard oil and chili powder, and served with large slivers of raw garlic and ginger.” Then there’s anta ko roti tarkari ($6.95), which “matched spicy roasted potatoes with cold pickled radish.” And then there’s the steamed vegetable momos ($5.95), and they are extremely delicious.

In Walfish’s words, ” I can’t wait to go back” – we feel the same. It’s a true gem in the borough and deserves more attention.
