The Department of Housing Preservation & Development is now accepting applications for the Rufus King Court Apartment site in Jamaica. The development is located at 148-19 90th Avenue, off of Sutphin Boulevard. It’ll hold 46 affordable rental units over eight stories. There will be four studio apartments, 14 one-bedroom units, 23 two bedrooms, 5 three bedrooms and an on-site superintendent’s unit. Monthly rent ranges from $659 to $1,199. As with all HPD-sponsored apartment buildings, residents will be selected through a lottery system. Current and eligible residents of Queens Community Board 12 receive preference for 50 percent of the units. To check out income guidelines and to apply for housing, visit the Housing Connect site.
