On the radar for a little while has been Snowdownia, a new spot in Astoria – not yet open, but they hope to be in the new year – that will be something a little different for the area. Many of their dishes will be beer-based, with some integrating the brew fully into the food. According to the Snowdonia Facebook page, the owner has been researching beers and it looks like they are going to serve craft beers – we were amused by the name of one, “Brew Free or Die IPA.” We hope it’s tasty.
We would not be surprised if they connected with local breweries – both SingleCut Brewsmiths and Rockaway Brewing Company are right here, and are making excellent beer.
We’ll keep an eye on this one.

The address they give is the current location of El Boqueron, which is currently open and doing business. Are the owners aware of the impending change, or is the real location somewhere else?
