SingleCut Beersmiths, the first brewery in Queens since Prohibitionsays it’s planning to open their Astoria location in September, and they’re sticking to it. We drove by yesterday to check out the space on 19-33 37th St, right off Steinway St near the piano factory. Although the rental sign was still up, the President/Head Brewer assured us the brewery occupies the building. They announced the lease signing in March, which was confirmed by The Real Deal a few months later.

SingleCut recently provided kegs for a tasting at Socrates Sculpture Park (the event was coined “Park Side of the Moon”). Beers included a brown ale, 3 IPAs, a lemon saison, rum-barrel aged ale, and a pilsner — all by the SingleCut brewer team.

According to Brew York, the brewery will have a 30-barrel brewhouse, multiple 60-barrel fermenters and lagering tanks, tasting room for sampling, live music, and growler fills. They’ll brew 100% of the beer in Queens,
