ps-85-rally-noise

Despite the snow this morning, Senator Mike Gianaris, Assemblymember Aravella Simotas, Councilmembers Peter Vallone and Costa Constantinides held a rally at 9am for noise relief at Astoria’s PS 85. The local pols, PS 85 students and parents asked the MTA and DOE to address the noise problems created by passing trains on the N/Q elevated line — the trains are known to disrupt classes for extended periods of time. In the crowd, children held up signs that read “My ears hurt,” “Buffer the train,” and “Hey hey ho ho, the subway noise has got to go.”
