Buffalo Exchange Opens in Astoria

    by

The former Hallmark store at 29-16 Ditmars Boulevard in Astoria has been replaced by Buffalo Exchange, a national chain of consignment shops. The second-hand store officially opened on Saturday. Despite having more than 30 locations around the country, each company or franchise store emphasizes its local-ness. Buffalo Exchange has various programs through which people who live in the neighborhood can buy, swap or drop both new and used clothes. As DNA Info reported on Friday, the Ditmars Avenue location already has relationships in place to donate a portion of its sales to local causes like the East River Development Alliance and the Alley Pond Environmental Center in Flushing.
