We had a great time last night at the We Heart Astoria second year anniversary party at Bear. But perhaps the most interesting thing we learned was that the restaurant was an excellent place for fancy time.

Fancy time is defined as time spent away from the ills of the world. Coined in San Francisco’s Tenderloin by John Ross, who demanded respite away from the crack heads and vagrants who frequent the area, fancy time is a total escape from reality.

That being said, this bar serves Picklebacks, take that Brooklyn hipsters.

UPDATE:

On Why Leave Astoria, we learned Diwine serves Pimms Cup, now where can we get a Dark and Stormy?

  1. Another complaint was when he meteionnd how loans were insured it led viewers to believe that that was the only reason we are backing loans (I.E. bailout out banks) He should have explained some basics on banking so people understand that insured or not the government must bailout bank failures or loose much more in currency depreciation or currency collapse. They would start to ask why our government (yes Greenspan and Bush were key here) refused to regulate the finance sector when problems were brought up multiple times.
