It looks like Astoria is moving up in the ranks of hip neighborhoods of New York: the area now boasts its very own creative coworking space. The office, called Create NY Space, is located right near the Museum of the Moving Image at 35-18 37th Street. Create NY Space, which is configured like an open loft, will offer hi-speed Wi-Fi, a beverage bar, work areas and meeting rooms. It will also host things like small business growth strategy classes, monthly networking events (like a networking happy hour!) and member art shows.
The Aurora Gallery, a graffiti art gallery, is behind Create NY Space. According to them, “We wanted to give Astoria its own co-working type space that would reflect this amazing and diverse neighborhood. No need to go over the bridge to be creative when we, at the Aurora Gallery, want to give you a space for your creativity.” They really put time and effort into making the spot look comfortable and cool — check out three more interior photos after the jump. Great somethingstructural, thanks for the info. Looking forward to checking this out.
This place looks great! However, the link to their web site didn’t load when I called it up. Is there another way to get in touch with them? Google didn’t turn up much. Somethingstructural, if you happen to have their # handy I’d love to have it. Thanks much.
it looks like they were working on the site; there’s been a few changes since I was there yesterday.
it’s back up now…
