Random Access Music (RAM), a collective of local music composers, has issued a call for proposals from new music ensembles for the second annual Queens New Music Festival on May 17-19, 2013. The group is seeking “adventurous proposals from new music ensembles or individual artists dedicated to performing new music” to participate in the Festival.

The basic requirement for the proposal (2 pages, max) is that the proposed program must consist of music written in the past 50 years or by a living composers. Eight proposals will be selected by a jury made up of RAM member composers. Any ensemble that specializes in performing new music playing any style or genre will be considered, and electronic and digital instruments/equipment are welcome.

The second annual Queens New Music Festival starts at 8pm on Friday, May 17 and ends with a concert on Sunday, May 19 at 5pm. Six more concerts will occur during this date/time period. The concerts will take place at Secret Theatre‘s Main Stage (44-02 23rd Street in LIC (GMAP).
