Center for the Holographic Arts Opens in the LIC Clock Tower Tomorrow

Tomorrow, the Center for the Holographic Arts opens to the public at the Clock Tower of Long Island City. They’ve used the historic bank lobby and vault space to display different types of holographic artwork. The Holocenter, as it’s called, was founded in LIC back in 1998 at the Flux Factory. Their debut exhibit at the Clock Tower is called “Interference:Coexistence” and the pieces include work from the late 70s and early 80s that defined the art form, as well as more modern pieces by established and emerging artists. It will be on view until the 28th. The Center will be open to the public on Wednesday through Saturday, from 2 pm to 6 pm. Entry is free. There are tons of upcoming events associated with the exhibit which you can check out here. The photo above, from the Holocenter Facebook, is of the media preview held last night.
