Streetlevel: Cell Phones in Place of Antiques
More cell phone shops! This Verizon opened at 337 Flatbush Avenue, where Accentiques used to be. What more can we say? We’ll leave the commentary to you guys. GMAP

Cell phone stores are boring and an eyesore and should only be put in basements that you can find via a beautiful sign made by a local artist.
The facade was not “torn down”
It’s behind that Verizon sign, intact.
It is beautiful though, and was a real shame they covered it up.
Too bad you didn’t take a photo of the ugly massive Verizon sign from the side.
There’s a beautiful old tin cornice behind it that was still partly visible when I walked by recently.
Those cell phone stores don’t last long anyways. The bright side is that another Subway sandwich outlet will probably replace it in six months. That or another hideous Dunkin Donuts.
ugh. is that sign big enough?
Losing another antique store is just too predictable. They are the first to go when times get tough.
santa, agreed — this boxy sign replaced a pretty nice front facade.
wtf is a “paging zone” anyway?
the front of the store was cool but they tore it all down. That kinda sucked.
but ive said this before, cell phone stores are the new shoe repair stores
There’s a HUGE T-Mobile store catty corner from this place, in what used to be a video store (major waste of real estate as far as I can see), as well as a Sprint store at that same intersection. What’s going on here?!?
I like the plant in the window.
