The contenders: Pinchik Hardware on Flatbush, rumored to have been here since the 40s; Smiling Pizza (since the 70s, maybe?); and Neergard Pharmacy’s 5th Avenue locale, which seems to have opened in the late 1800s. Purity Diner has been around since the ’50s. They did a lousy renovation in the late ’80s.
