Me and my boyfriend just found out about this last week.
We were very disappointed. We had been there once and really
loved it. My boyfriend lived in NC for a long time.
He didn’t think there was any good BBQ in NYC until we went to the Lookout Hill.
The pulled pork was amazing and the ribs were good, too.
Also, that day they had the special of fried okra.
That was so good and I still miss it.
We were keeping thinking about re-visiting and too bad
we didn’t go earlier. It’s really sad to find out the restaurants
you love just closed like that. I was also sad
when I found out No No’s Kitchen (on 7th Ave.) was closed.
The little white notice taped to the window says “Deliveries for Playa Cabana Bar please use side door” (or something very similar). I’m no Sherlock Holmes but it seems like damning evidence to me. We shall see!
Park Loper….are you sure?
It’s turning into something called “Playa Cabana Bar” real soon… Maybe the Bourbon selection will be replaced with Tequila.
kosher style deli? it blows my mind that you can’t get a katz’s style hot pastrami sandwich, knish and dr. brown’s black cherry in brownstone brooklyn …
nyc pet opened 3 doors down from this place recetly in the chinese takeout that went out. its funny on brownstoner they picked on 7th avenue south slope yesterday saying stores are turning over all the time. my take on it is stores all over brownstone brookln and DUMBO are going out all the time. in this economy only the strong will survive. i hope im one of them.
The location is haunted by the spirit of Ralph, the dry cleaner…
love it SnarkSlope
How about a combination gay bar / shoe store?
They can call it “Light in the Loafers.”
