Is this long-ago Karl Fischer design bound to make a comeback? A few days ago the Department of Buildings issued a new building permit for 50 Greenpoint Avenue, currently an empty lot at West Street. The DOB paperwork led us all the way back to this building application, first filed in 2007, for a six-story, 44-unit build. The architect on record, of course, is Karl Fischer. The above rendering surfaced six years ago on Curbed, in a post appropriately called Greenpoint or Omaha? Even if the rendering’s out of date, we can’t imagine the design will differ too greatly from this. According to public records, the site has not changed hands recently.
