How Distasteful: Dumbo Listing Photo Markets 9/11 View

There are plenty of brokers with the poor judgment when it comes to what photos to include with a listing, but a recent ad for a Dumbo one-bedroom takes the cake: Not only is there not a single photo of the building or apartment in question (strongly suggesting it’s a poached listing), there is just a single shot of the the smoking ruins of the World Trade Center. What the heck is this woman thinking?
Aishling;
Thanks for the photo. You are correct – the location lines up with the WTC.
sorry dave, not trying to give you a hard time, just crossed posts after aishling posted…
It’s the World Trade Center. i did an image search on bing and there is a photo from a similar angle. You can see the towers in exactly that position. I used to walk across chambers and a few blocks down to go to the site- that’s where they were. The size of the Towers made them appear in different places in relation to your angle of view. But the photo in just looked at shows them right behind the bridge pylon, to the left of the two buildings with pointed rooftops.
Looks like WTC to me. Much too close to be Jersey, and nothing else in that vicinity burned like that any time since 9/11. It looks like the right spot to me.

See above link for a similar angle taken during the day.
That photo in the ad is definately WTC. It just taken from a northerly angle that distorts the relation to the Brooklyn Bridge.
Exactly, that is the Millenium Hotel in the center of the smoke, the next large building to the south is the location of the Cleary Gottlieb (law firm) with Brooks Brothers on the ground floor.
Thanks aishling. I stand corrected.
No, it’s not. Walk by it every day. Saw it happen. Can look out the window now and see the construction. Check out the larger pic on the website. No cars on the bridge, the FDR or the on B. Bridge ramp either.
Woolworth building is the skinny dark tower to the north, followed by the Verizon building, then the municipal building with the gold statue on top, followed by the old Metlife (or was it New York Life) insurance building (all of which are just to the North of the B. Bridge on ramp near City Hall).
According to this site (http://www.actupny.org/nyc/index.html), the picture is dated September 14, 2001. The smoke is coming from directly behind and slightly to the north of the Millenium Hilton, so not sure why anyone thinks it is coming from too far north. There is also no traffic on the FDR.
