Closing Bell: Dumbo, Rebranded
As DumboNYC and Curbed already noted, Dumbo got some new branding earlier this week courtesy of Two Trees Management, the dominant property owner in the area. The sign, which is highly visible to drivers approaching the Brooklyn Bridge, for the last several years has read “Live. Work. Play. DUMBO.”

Interesting that they’re branding it as such despite the fact that they’re turning one of the more “creative” buildings – 45 Main – into condos in a few years.
I guess if you think Wall Street professionals are creative, however I do like the creative painting on the side of Pedro’s.
i like the idea of there being some iconic DUMBO brand and signage, but get a firm like pentagram to do it, not some amateur with microsoft word. this doesn’t look good and doesn’t reflect well on two trees, IMO.
so what…the art world moved out of dumbo. nothing creative here to see. move along.
whether you like there style or not, they created the most active leasing environment in the four outer boros, have done more REAP leases than anyone else, and provide what is on points the best work spaces in the entire north brooklyn area. most wired, best run, most flexible spaces. and they take care of tenants that pay rent and they like they also give away or discount so much arts space they are among the top arts donors in the HISTORY of BKLYN, joining Mr. Cantor and the Rubins. six figures a month in subsidies…..
happy to debate anyone who knows what they are taking about on this one
Yes, well, Two Trees original line: “Demand. Subvert. Impose.” just didn’t have the same ring.
Very uncreative campaign from NYC’s creative capital. And really about Two Trees, not DUMBO.
your comments indicate that none of you have enjoyed the gallery walks or parks that are part of DUMBO nor the vision that the Walentases had over 20 years ago to create a dynamic area in an abandoned part of the city. but you do enjoy that Brooklyn is now the hot spot of our metro area.
DUMBO does have a lot of new media professionals, the kind of people who watch Ted.
