Last week on a whim we popped into Neighborhoodies at 26 Jay Street in Dumbo and ordered a blue American Apparel sweatshirt with “Brownstoner” hand-sewn on the front. It was done in 24 hours and we’ve barely taken it off since. It wasn’t exactly cheap, so we figured we’d give any interested readers a chance to get a group discount. Check out the selection of Classic Lite colors and sizes and then drop us an email at brownstoner@brownstoner.com with your preference. (Note: Like most American Apparel items, these sweatshirts are cut on the slim side.) We’ll aggregate all the orders and pass along to Neighborhoodies, who will handle all the billing and delivery. Depending on the response, each sweatshirt should end up costing somewhere in the $40 to $45 range.

  1. “And don’t a SINGLE ONE OF YOU try to act like you never wore a tee shirt with your favorite band on it or a jacket with Adidas or The North Face or the like on it”

I never did any of these things.

  2. That hoodie will be worthless once Atlantic Yards is built.

I can’t believe I’m the first commenter to say that! What do I win?

But honestly- why are so many of you so bitter about B’stoner? Because he could afford to buy a brownstone and did so and never apologized? Because he’s trying to make a living doing something that started as a hobby and quickly gained a loyal, borderline rabid following? What’s the big deal? And don’t a SINGLE ONE OF YOU try to act like you never wore a tee shirt with your favorite band on it or a jacket with Adidas or The North Face or the like on it; tennis shoes with a swoosh? It’s ALL free advertising. Christ, some of you should go live in an organic-nudist off-the-grid free love compound the way you whine and cry outrage at every little thing. This is a city: different races, classes, religions and ideas all crammed into a relatively small bit of land. What is it that makes you imagine that what’s important and correct and motivating to you should be the same for your neighbors? If you find B’stoner too ‘yuppie’ or ‘nimby’ or ‘white’ or ‘pro/anti’ what is it that compels you to visit this site and post comments? For instance:I don’t watch Bill O’Reilly or Hannity and Colmes; it’s NOT FOR ME. See how that works?

  3. I’ve had my Clinton Hill hoodie (without the hood) for years now from Neighborhoodies. He’s not making any money off of this. I think its a nice idea, especially since I’m not one of those snarky ‘guest’ commenters.
