“Cesar Fuentes has announced that this weekend will be the last of this season for the Red Hook Ballfields vendors. They wrap on Sunday the 26th, while the vendors at the Brooklyn Flea will continue to operate through December 21.” [Eater]

Chowhounds Dig Bussaco

Bussaco, which opened this month in Park Slope, had corndog1 from the bread basket (baguette, olive, and a slightly sweet loaf), and things got even better from there. A frisée salad with egg and Surrey ham was just right… A special appetizer of octopus was tender, smoky, and delicious. Tortellini with squash and mushroom was another standout: ‘Every bite tasted different.’ Overall, he writes, it was an outstanding meal.” [CHOW]

“You’ll find well-curated spirits such as genever—the Netherlands’ whiskeylike equivalent of dry gin—in his negroni, and Picon, a rare brand of French bitters, in the Brooklyn (a rye-based cocktail). Small plates from chef Daniel Eardley include ‘cheese on horseback’ (Swiss tête de moine cheese balanced on candied pecans) and sardine toasts with grapes and olives.”
