Here’s a very impressive before and after: The exterior renovation of 58 Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights was completed this week. The inset photo shows what the firm Baxt Ingui Architects had to work with pre-reno. The wood-frame house is believed to date back to around 1814, and the facade was last altered in the ’50s.   1. Boy, this house has been through a lot. What a beautiful restoration. I like the clever placement of the garage and the sideways stair. I guess most Brooklyn houses don’t have enough width for that.
