Yesterday Curbed attended the Landmarks Preservation Commission meeting and came back with details of the two Brooklyn items on the agenda. Above is the rendering of the Congress Street townhouse project, designed by Morris Adjmi Architects. The four rowhouses to the back of the rendering will simply be restored to the original design. The five townhouses are new construction. The notable element of the new townhouses are the metal stoops: after working with LPC, Adjmi designed stoops which incorporate open risers and decorative elements. Do you like what you see? The LPC did, and approved the design. The LPC also approved plans for a new townhouse at 67 Greene Avenue. Rachel Frankel Architecture presented a four-story brownstone design. The LPC already approved plans here in 2008 and, according to Curbed, the only change in plan is that “the stoop will be moved from right to left, and the first-floor lintels will now be arched and flush with the facade.” Check out that rendering after the jump.
