We had Kolbe sash replacements installed a few years ago and we have a few niggling issues which I’d really like to resolve – replacing the windows again not being an option. Can anyone recommend a company which could assist with these issues? Screens – the installers screwed up the order and didn’t order the built in screens – they instead installed a track on the outside which now pops the window out whenever we tilt them in to clean [this is unbelievably annoying given one reason we chose the windows was the tilt in for ease of cleaning] Air leakage around the mouldings inside – we have historic mouldings and the cavities behind them leak cold air (this winter has been especially bad for draughts). The sashes themselves are generally ok but there are a thousand cold air leaks from the surrounds Thanks in advance

Have you contacted the Dept of Consumer Affairs? Why or why not? It may not be too late to get the original contractor to complete the job. As a licensed contractor, I pay the DCA to help you. I want contractors to be licensed and home owners to hire licensed contractors. Did you hire a licensed contractor?

If you don’t get retribution from your installers, the guys at vilawindowrepair.com on Ditmas Ave are very good at all sorts of window problems and reasonable.
