sliding pocket door and hardware recommendations?

the johnson product is excellent.For your own satisfaction I would suggest going around your contractor. Recently I have purchased some interior doors by modern glass designs company and I’m really pleased with the design, quality and price. It’s really great for me.

We’d like to install multi-pass sliding pocket doors to divide a front room from the back room. Something like the attached. So, 3 doors on the right-hand side and 3 doors on the left-hand side that when pulled shut completely block off one room from the other. We want the multi-pass so the “pocket” takes up as little floor space as possible when the doors are open. A few questions: – what kind of hardware do you suggest for this? We were thinking the Johnson Hardware [100MP 6-Door Multi-Pass Pocket Door Set](http://jhusa.net/100mp.aspx). (Not sure if the track is only at the top or at top AND bottom.) Any suggestions for others? Want something that is sturdy and will make the doors slide easily, as we intend to open and shut often. – what kind of doors do you suggest? Since we need 6 of them, and because we’re simple humble folks, we don’t need/want anything fancy. Exciting words like “economical” and “practical” describe our aesthetic. We do however want them to be as soundproofing as possible without spending a ton of money. We’ll pay more for a better door if it makes that much of a difference in soundproofing, but we just want to know our options and then decide. – Not sure how it works with multi-pass sliding pocket doors…Can we just buy ANY type of door we want and that will work whatever hardware we buy? I have no idea how this works… Thanks!

the johnson product is excellent. I am not sure how many different grades they have – but I do believe their are higher grades with better rollers. Speak to the folks at Dykes. Stanley makes this kind of product as well, again not sure of the differences in the models. these hang from above which is what you want. Steve

also, yes, any doors will work. just figure the math on the widths. Talk to the folks at dykes. they can explain how all of this works and what you will need. Steve
