How to remove security gates from bed-stuy townhouse ?

Greetings and good vibes! have a question, hoping the community can help. I seek to remove front garden level security gates from my bedstuy townhouse because they obscure the original details. Does anyone have recommendations on the project? Scrappers who would buy the metal? Someone who could come cut them off and haul them away? Anyone want them? see pic.

If it’s a brownstone it should be easy. My neighbor just sawed through the centers of the bars & pulled the ironwork out. He had to patch the holes. You’d probably want to do it along the line of that single cross piece to save the pattern of the bars.

use a grinder, not a sawzall. keep the gates in case deblasio is re-elected. btw, i wouldn’t recommend removing gates from the garden level. parlor floor is probably safe without.

Nothing about these looks original to the building. Doesn’t look like there is any iron on the garden windows either. Even if they were original, cut them off and save for future all cash buyer. Tell LM you don’t like it and to suck a lemon. Let future all cash buyer decide if they want to bend to LM.

Thanks everyone! Very helpful! No-permits: You’re right, I wouldn’t cut off garden level gates either. These are parlor level; I misspoke in my original posting. I’m leaving the garden bars and the back parlor bars, just removing the front parlor level. I’m not on landmarked block so should be fine cutting them off. I think these are a 1980s addition anyway, according to my neighbors. I have a grinder for the job. It looks like there is not much of a market for these things, so I suppose I will be taking to a scrapper, calling Build it Green about a possible pickup, or simply leave them out on bulk garbage day.
