Has anyone used these two window companies?

My building wants to replace some common area windows. We are looking at companies that both manufacture and install. I would appreciate help with these questions: -has anyone used Fiberama or Kelly Windows? -someone in the building suggested ripping out the old windows and wooden frames, inserting aluminum windows bigger than the former windows to fill in the hole in the wall, and securing the aluminum frame in the opening with fiberglass insulation. We are dubious about this. One suggestion was encapsulating the old wood frames with the aluminum, but complete removal of wood frames too rotten to hold. I’d appreciate any feedback on this questions. -TM

I don’t know anything about these window companies. For my new home I bought all furnishing accessories from Clera windows. They are famous in manufacturing and installing various types of windows and doors according to our requirements. At that time I searched many window company review sites( http://www.ontariowindowreviews.com/reviews/clera-windows/ ) and at last I selected Clera ,because they have the highest rating of good reviews compared with other companies.

Some of the windows have gaps in the brick around the sides of the window. One company suggested that the gaps be filled in by a mason, before the existing windows were encapsulated. Another company said that putting the new larger windows over the gaps was sufficient. We wanted to know how the new windows would be secured since they would be hollow over the gaps, and were told that the insulation would be used as a filler. We had previously had a door installed where the hollow fame was filled in with something other than concrete. The door never worked properly. We had to have it removed and a new door, with a concrete-filled frame, installed. We are worried that there will be a similar problem with the window frames.

Installing new windows over the old window frame is the ny way. Cheaper, quicker, and less work. Why would they securing the window with fiberglass insulation. If the building can afford, go with the larger window.
