Hi, we’re looking for a licensed contractor who can retile a bathroom in a Manhattan apartment. One wall of tile needs to be replaced and the sheetrock behind the tile needs to be replaced with Durock or something mold resistant. There is also messy grout that needs to be cleaned up and we want to add a marble windowsill to the bathroom window. Thanks!

Call Dan at Professional Construction 718-533-9083. He just finished reconstructing a small shower stall with new plumbing, Durock and tile. 3 day turnaround.

I would do this job a little differently.  I control mold by preventing water from ever reaching the substrate – Durrock or whatever.  I use waterproof membranes and single stage floor drains.  You can see recomendations of my work on my mini site in the Brownstoner Directory under tile and stone – Green Mountain
