Skylight for flat roof

My project is installing skylight on the flat roof. Velux is only for pitched roof. Anyone who have installed skylight on the flat roof? Please help me. Any opinion for Supreme skylight for flat roof? Supreme vs Insura-dome? My contractor said he can install skylight for pitched roof onto flat roof, is it true? Thanks in advance.

Velux makes skylights suitable for flat roofs. You need to choose a curb mounted model and have a curb built and flashed by your contractor. FWIW, I’ve found the Velux skylights to be excellent in quality and have used them in my own home.

My Velux sl is a pos, did not function as specified and shortly leaked between the glass and the frame; out of warranty.  Both of my insuladome sl started peeling within 2 years – powder coated finish should have lasted indefinitely is now down to bare metal in many places.  They are in an addition and and look trashy when I look out the windows on the floor above the addition.  In warranty but their solution was to have someone come to my house and paint them – not powder coated – thereby creating  maintenance for me that I paid not to have.  My big brand X is at least 12 years old and never had a problem.

The contractor will need to build up a curb on the flat roof to install the skylight. If he wants to he can add pitch there and properly flash the light. I’m not familair with the premier brand you mention.
