Recommendation on contractor to do Skylight repair

I have searched everywhere on Brownstoner but can’t find any recommendations for a contractor to repair skylights.  I have a skylight that leaks every time it rains hard (seems like all skylights leak). Thanks.

Yes, you need a roofer. It could simply need a bit of tar here and there in the cracks. Or you could need a new skylight, or a new seat for the skylight you already have. I recently used Leakmasters and thought they were great.

I agree with the post about a roofer – roofers do skylights.  check whether your roof is under warranty to anyone and perhaps call them first.  Otherwise search for roofers and go with someone you trust.

One of our skylights is cracked and the previous owner’s solution was to just tar over it. We’re looking to have them fixed (replaced probably) and would be interested in roofer recommendations as well.

I think you need a roofer http://forum.brownstoner.com/category/roofers/ And you probably want to talk to a couple of them because the proposed solutions could be a new roof or just patching and repairing the leaks.
