Steam shower unit or built?

Hi, I am building shower in basement and wanted to put Steam shower. There are a lot of prefabricated units to choose from or my plumber can build one from scratch. As I understand the prefab unit would not fit perfectly into 55x34x89″ space and will look somewhat “cheap”. On the other side it is much less hustle then hand maid enclosure with the tiles, doors, etc. So I lean toward the prefab unit. What’s your opinion.

I also want to use thermoregulator for the water supply. Is it possible to replace shower mixer in the prefab shower with the thermoregulating one?

custom, make sure they size the steam generator properly and slope the ceiling.
