Should I use Firestone APP-180 or Siplast paradiene 20 tg for the Roof?
Firestone APP 180 is a torch down roofing system. This system is not recommended for roofs with wood sheathing / decking for the most obvious reasons. One tiny fire ember gets caught under the roofing material while they are torching it down and hours later your house is on fire. Firestone is a top of the line roofing system but for your application you would be better off using a two ply Firestone SBS system. Properly done this roof should give you a minimum 25-30 years peace of mind.. The key to a good roofing job is in the perimeter flashing and identifying the low spots before hand and correcting the pitch of the roof accordingly. If you are stripping the old roofing down to the wood deck you have to be aware of the asbestos requirements . Roofing materials pre 1980 had a very high asbestos content and now have to be properly abated by a certified licensed asbestos contractor. You may be able to avoid expensive asbestos abatement if you only have a couple of layers of old roofing on your house currently.
One thing to remember is that if your contractor has not in formed you about the potential for asbestos in the existing roof material and he removes it illegally and gets caught by the DOB your house will be sitting under temporary tarps for months until the fines are paid
Minimum fines start at $ 10 K

I have a 16 foot by 50 foot FLAT roof that will be re-done (stripped down to thelywood). As I plan to live here for many more years, I have been quoted for the job. The roofer is offering me to use the Firestone APP-180 or Siplast paradiene 20 tg (with the price difference being 10% more if we use the latter).
I live in Queens, NY so our weather can go from 0F up to 100F+.
Since I am by far not an expert, I would like to know if you think that the Siplast would be a better and smarter investment. All I care about is durability and no leaks!
Thank you all in advance for your opinions.

We used Siplast for a very large commercial project years ago, don’t the model # but I
am guessing its better than F’stone
