Metal cladding (3rd floor mansard)

I researched the forum and website but couldn’t find any relevant post. I’m looking for an experienced Brooklyn-based contractor to install snap-clad panels. See attached before and after. Yes, he is incredibly busy and much in demand.
Like so many craftsman these days he probably only works by personal referral. If they know who referred them, that is who gets the response. Because otherwise they also waste an awful lot of time educating un- informed people. Most of his work does come from Architects, General Contractors and people like me who have seen his work and used him previously.
Why did your architect or GC not have options available to you?

Hi resident2, I just wanted to give you an update. I’ve contacted Robert Karalus by phone and also emailed him at omegahomeimprovement@yahoo.com. I’ve provided him with a detailed document that included plans, photos, drawings, renderings, specifications, etc, that my architect had put together. I also provided Robert with a vendor’s name and contact info where he could get the materials. I had to follow up with him several times to get a response, he never met with me in person, and ended up sending me an estimate for $18,700 by text message. When I asked questions about his estimate, I learned that scaffolding wasn’t included in his quote. He also admitted that he would take care of only half the scope of the project. In the end I’ve decided to go with another contractor who I’ve already worked with and will do the entire project for $12k. I’m sure Robert already has too much on his plate and doesn’t care about losing this opportunity.

As a homeowner and entrepreneur, I’m really frustrated by the lack of professionalism of home renovation contractors in NYC. I’ve wor ked with a few, and he’s not the first one who sends an estimate by text and doesn’t know how to put a proposal together for a project that costs over $10k. I work in a different industry (digital advertising), and I can tell you that either me, my colleagues, or competitors will go above and beyond to win a project and satisfy a client, even if their budget is just $5k… We take the time to meet with our prospects, understand their needs, ask questions, put a proposal together, provide recommendations, follow up on a regular basis. It’s just shocking to see how the home renovation industry has different standards, but I guess that’s how it is when the demand exceeds the offer…

Call Robert (sorry his last name is something unpronounceable and spelling I do not know) he is based in Flushing although he has a Westchester # 914-645-1470
He is brilliant at architectural roofs and mansards; metal, slate, tile etc. And not expensive considering the quality of his work
