Roof inspections

I would like to recommend Steve Cymbalsky of Brownstone Home Inspection. https://brownstonehomeinspection.com/about
I am intending to get solar panels and I wanted to know if I needed to resurface my roof beforehand. Had a long conversation with Steve and he was extremely knowledgable.

the reason we only had a long “conversation” was that, after reviewing photos, i felt it was a little risky to tell the op to try and keep the existing membrane (and put solar on it) due to its age and the potential for problems in the future. So i was a little bit apprehensive about visiting him and taking his money only to tell him the roof has to come off or be gone over with a new membrane. (no solar panels and i would have visited him and told him what to do to make that last another 10-20 years).

My goal in providing these roof inspections is to teach homeowners how to maintain their own roofs
or put them in a position that they can call a “roofer” and know enough to be able to know if the roofer is doing what they should be doing (when performing maintenance work). i have been in my house for 18 years and the only person to work on my much older roof is me.

I do not believe in taking money from people unless i can deliver something of at least equal or greater value to the client.

Do it the way professional building managers do it: Get these roofs inspected now before the leaks start happening. what i teach you will cost less than what you will pay to have two “roofers” come in and work on your roof for 3 hours and you will not need some bs roofer ever again.
