Marvin Integrity vs Andersen patio doors

Hi again – We are looking to install 2 sets of French doors at the back wall of our townhouse. Dimensions of the french doors are 6 feet x 8 feet. We got quotes for Marvin, Marvin Integrity and Anderson. The Marvin doors are too expensive for us. However, the Marvin Integrity and Andersen quotes are very close in price. I wanted to know 1) if there is another brand we should take into consideration as well and 2) if people prefer one over the other (Marvin Integrity vs Andersen). We don’t have a historical house so landmark is not an issue plus it is the back of the house. Also, what should we consider when deciding between inswing and outswing doors? Thank you in advance. Thanks, Dave. I have heard good things about the Andersen french doors from people that have actually have them installed in their homes. I have heard good things about the Marvin french doors as well but none are from people that actually have them installed in their homes so I am thinking that they are just going by brand name only. For the hinged french doors we want, the price difference between the Marvin integrity and the Andersen is less than $500 (the Marvin being the more expensive one) and in listening to the sales person, it does make sense. I am told that the Marvin Integrity brand is designed to cater to customers who b/c of the higher price point for the top of the line Marvin doors end up going with Andersen doors. I think what it may come down to is which one will give an overall better deal when adding up the other doors/windows I need. Thanks again. I have had a lot of questions lately and your responses to all of them have been very helpful. First learned about the UNICO system from you (last year when you commented about the wall units used in the reno for 22 Arlington) and now I am getting the UNICO system installed in my house with the guy doing the work starting on it tomorrow… Sam

I had Andersons put in here at a house near the shore in 1992 and still have them and they have held up well. I like the way the screens work too if you are going to use screens. I don’t know how the screens would differ between Marvins and ANdersen sliding doors but I definitely prefer Andersen screen design for double hung windows over Marvin.
