Looking for a new architect

I’m having a real problem with an architect who posts here often, so his name shall not be named. I was wondering – is it possible to change architects in the middle of the job? My renovation is actually mostly done, but I will need 1-2 amendments and then a final sign off. Would anyone be interested? How much should something like this cost?

As the previous two posters have indicated, it is possible to change architects in the middle. I concur with Curated that it will often cost you more to do so. That being said, if you are getting nowhere, you may not want to continue to bang your head against the wall. I’ve taken over jobs due to architects being deceased, disappearing mid-project, or simply due to personality issues. As a professional who has a personal and ethical responsibility to do right however, it’s a good idea for a superseding architect/engineer to get both sides of the story. it’s not appropriate for a new professional to step in and legitimately cut the previous applicant out of fees they were entitled to collect per their agreement. http://labarchny.com

While it’s possible to change architects in the middle it will most likely end up costing you more to do so. There is no way to say for certain what the new architect would charge until he meets with you and goes through all the plans and filing details.
