You need to define the parameters further. Nail down that is sanded and finished in place? Glue down of engineered? Nail down of prefinished solid? All will have different costs associated with the basic install. It’s the accessory labor such as moving out the furniture and doing the quarter round or baseboard that will have the most impact on the dollar amount of the quote though. And no one really tells you that. That’s why it’s important to compare apples and apples quotes with all of the services and materials that you need for the _whole job_, not just the basic cost per square foot labor that you are asking about. The person with the cheapest cost for that might be the highest for the whole job overall! Don’t forget that if you shop price, that is what you get. You have to see other work that they’ve done to see if they are worth even getting a quote from. It’s self defeating to choose the low bidder to only end up with crappy quality work that has to be done over by one of the higher cost bidders.
