I highly recommend Adam at Urban Exteriors and Loppopolo too. The deck they made for me is the nicest one I’ve ever seen. Adam does woodwork, and Loppopolo does metal. I don’t know if either of them do demolition but I’m sure they could refer you to someone.

Noted previously, I actually have a roof extension deck created by the Sketch & Hammer team 16 years ago on 1 of my properties in Brooklyn which I have “cleaned” by them annually, simply because I can’t stand road traffic soot on the surface . They work with their client to design a deck and install it . If coordination comprised of “group-effort” networking is needed to complete a DOB compliant job, it does not include mark up pricing. Smartest contractor i’ve ever dealt with, had a few quotes but none o them could solve the height issue (eg windows onto the deck), he knew exactly what i was after and worked with Lopoppolo metal works to get it designed.

With everything else happening, this is an unfortunate time to need repairs on decks in homeowners’ backyards. Wait if you can. It can be difficult in some cases to get someone to come. Passage through interior residences regarding logistics of lumber deliveries is a health risk for workers & homeowners. Safe passages would include basements “with no” tight turns/corners that block lumber sizes from a straight clearance. No principled workers are going to risk health to themselves and to homeowners during, and for a long time after, a pandemic without alternate navigation to & from backyards. Amongst other deck specialists, Susan B Hager and her associate iron worker, Ricardo Fiallos are recommended here frequently.
