Contractor for bathroom?

Hi. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good and reliable contractor to gut and redo a full bathroom? Thanks!!

It’s always good to start gathering names by asking your super, neighbors, etc. for contractors they heard of or what kind of experiences they had. Do the contractors have a good reputation, online and via word of mouth? Ask to speak with some of their previous clients.

One important indicator that you’ll get a positive contractor experience is whether the contractor has a reputation for coming back to fix minor issues, even years later if necessary. We know from our decades in the business that something always needs attention later on, and we make it a point to come back and take care of problems at no charge.

The other important factor, especially with gut renovation work, is to look for a general contractor who will be responsible for all aspects of the job. The project may be limited to the bathroom but the work might involve simultaneous and related plumbing, electrical, fixture selection, paint, tilework, millwork and more elements you don’t even know abo ut yet. The last thing you want is someone who may specialize in one area, like maybe a crew known for painting, but has limited experience in the others. General contractor is the way to go for complex projects.

Subway tile is not a flooring material. Good for walls.
