Loan Approved, then Denied before closing

I sympathise with your plight, but, since you don’t seem to have any connection to Brooklyn, I don’t think this is an appropriate forum for your complaint.

I currently live in TX and am moving back to CA in June. We got approved 100% credit from the under writer before we started looking for a home, not a pre-approval but a 100% approval. We find a hard to find home at the price we could afford and I was told my Loan was approved. Then a week before closing they just told me we are denied, because we are not already in California, which makes no sense to me? I paid for appraisal and other inspections… and we don’t want to lose this home because it’s a hard to find home in our price range… is this legal, I have everything documented.

All mortgage approvals are conditional these days. If you are moving to California but do not have a job there just yet and are currently working in Texas you have an occupancy issue.
