Seller negotiation after an inspection report
What is the accepted price reduction that we can ask a seller for after we received the results of the home inspection? There were several problems with the house that were uncovered that we were not aware of. Is there an accepted percentage of the total agreed upon price? If so – what is it, please?

Yeah to what they have said, the only exception would be violations of code. No exterior combustion air intake into boiler room. This condition can’t be grandfathered, and seller or you have to remedy. Violations are different from rickety or worn out. If you are the only all cash buyer they have, the results of an inspection can be the fodder for pushing the price down, but that’s because you have the upper hand, and any old reason is good enough to push down on the price.

If this is an older house, the liklihood of some issues popping up in an inspection should have been taken into account during the inititial offer. Depending on what your issues are, the seller might repair them or take off an amount equal to the cost of repairs for you to take care of it. If the issue is common to an old house (like old electrical wiring, or some settlement), they probably won’t give you anything.

No, it’s a negotiation. Depends what the issues are. For a first time home buyer tthere may be issues that you will find in EVERY house and, given that it’s back to being a sellers market, they may not negotiate. Let us know what kind of issues and maybe we can be more helpful.
