Would you reno a bathroom with shower stall and no tub?

If you have room for a tub, and a separate shower, great. If you have two bathrooms, and only one will have a tub, also good. Nothing bugs me more as a potential buyer (or renter) than a home with no bathtub…
Does anybody out there prefer a shower-only bathroom (no tub), if they get better use of space? Such as: With the shower only design, they can have a bathroom near their bedroom, which they otherwise could not. Or, they have a big closet, they would not otherwise have. Or, they have a bigger kitchen adjacent to the bathroom. If anybody built a shower only bathroom, other than as a second bathroom, please tell us why.

Many people really don’t have any use for a tub. I installed a Jacuzzi tub in my ensuite master bath and used it once in 5 years. I love the shower stall. I particulary hate claw foot tubs with wrap around shower curtains. Ughhh. I doubt lack of a tub would be a deal killer to a potential buyer unless they had a small baby.

also in a hurricane you cannot store extra water for sanitary purposes without a tub. I’m a bath girl. Would never consider property with shower only bathroom.

If you have an apartment that is a 2 bedroom or larger (family sized), you may knock out potiantial buyers by skipping the tub. I personally prefer shower stalls, but as someone with kids, I would be hesitent to buy an apartment with a shower only, or I’d factor the money and effort of adding a tub into the price I’d offer.
